Helen Bregianos was born June 23, 1929, in Chicago to Steve and Mary (nee Bakakeas) Funteas. She died Monday, May 20, 2024, in Arlington Heights. Helen loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren which they fondly referred to as Yiayia Lefty.

She loved knitting blankets for all, cooking, baking and playing solitaire.Helen was a loving mother to Faye Bregianos, the late Jim (Eileen) Bregianos, Mary (John) Petros; doting grandmother to Peter (Cara) Mooses, Justin and Colin Bregianos,

Matthew and Zachary Petros; affectionate great-grandmother to Elle, Brody and Beckett Mooses; fond sister to Mike (Cathy) Funteas; sister-in-law to Alice Funteas; loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded into death by her loving husband, Vasilios Bregianos; her adored son, Jim Bregianos; parents Steve and Mary Funteas, siblings, Fanny (Greg) Alepoudeas, Louie (Sophie) Funteas, Nick (Tessie) Funteas and John Funteas.

Visitation, Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 9:00 am until the time of the 10:00 am Funeral Service at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2727 W. Winona St., Chicago, IL 60625. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove.
