Helene R. Bottalla was born October 5, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY to William and Helen (nee Wiegand) Ryan. She died April 19, 2024 at Waverly Inn in Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Bottalla was a banker for Northwestern Savings and Loan in Chicago for 18 years, and later worked for the Jewel Food Stores in the Deli Department for 10 years. Helene was a member of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church in Arlington Heights and was also a catechist in the Religious Education Program for 5 years. She was a member of the St. James Ladies Golf League and the Arlington Heights Ladies Golf League. She spent three months a year in Naples, FL with Joe where they played golf and hung out with friends. Helene loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, and was loved by all.
She is survived by her children, Stephen (Rebecca) D’Angelo, Roger (Judy) Bottalla, Cathleen (Rusty) Macy, Cynthia (Brett) Stokes and Linda (Mike) Unger; grandchildren, Christopher Burns, Brandon (Lauren) Burns, Sara McKenna, Ryan D’Angelo, Patrick (Shelby) Kilgore, Erin Kilgore, Jeremy (Aurora) Unger, Brett (Lauren) Unger, Joseph (Hannah) Bottalla, Megan (Matt) Malin, Kevin Bottalla, Pat (Kelly) Macy, Lindsey (Taylor) Yaw and Alexander Stokes; great-grandchildren, Seraphina Unger, Elani Unger, Will Malin, Luke Malin, Cleo Unger and Jo Jo Macy; siblings, Gregg (Coleen) Ryan, Virginia Bosserman and Richard (Elizabeth) Ryan; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Helene is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Joseph Bottalla; Her daughter Suzanne (James) McKenna and by her parents.
Memorial Visitation Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church 440 South Mitchell Avenue Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Entombment will be at All Saints Mausoleum in Des Plaines.
