Hilda Alvarez, age 97, passed on October 21, 2026. A resident of Mount Prospect, Illinois, Hilda was born on May 13, 1929, in Yauco, Puerto Rico, and later moved to Chicago when she was 30 years old. Throughout her long life, she was beloved and cherished by those who knew her, remembered for a compassionate spirit, a faithful heart, and a kind-hearted presence that brought comfort to family and friends alike. She was very happy with her life, especially in the knowledge that she had a big family around her.
Hilda is survived by her four children, Lillian, Joey, Frankie, and Mickey; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Hilda Alvarez will be held at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, on October 28, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714, on October 28, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
