Howard J. Humecki

Howard J. Humecki, 90, of Lincolnshire, Illinois, passed away on March 5, 2021. He was born to John S. Humecki and Marie (nee Peszynksi) Humecki on July 4, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Von Steuben High School in Chicago in 1948. Howard served with the U.S. Army in Korea, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the Illinois Institute of Technology and his Master of Science in Chemistry from Loyola University Chicago. From 1968 through 1994, Howard worked as a chemist at McCrone Associates Inc. He was a devout Catholic and worshiped at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville, Illinois. Howard loved to travel abroad. An avid photographer, he presented slideshows of his trips during family gatherings and made his most recent overseas voyage to Myanmar in 2020.

Howard is survived by his nieces, Ellen Tisinai, Jane (nee Tisinai) Lacy, Janice Petraitis, Carol (Kreigh) Valkenaar, Mary Ellen (Dave) Riedel; nephews, Jack (Cindy) Tisinai, Stanley (Carmela) Petraitis, and Keith Petraitis; his great-nieces Melissa (Jeff) Mull, Erica (Phil Boothe) and Malinda Lacy; his great-nephew Tony (Amanda) Tisinai; many great-grand-nieces and nephews; and good friends Joan and Carol Dvorak.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John S. Humecki and Marie Humecki; his sisters, Phyllis Tisinai and Constance Petraitis; his brothers-in-law, Anton Tisinai and Stanley Petraitis; his nephew, Brian Tisinai; and his nephew-in-law, Bob Lacy.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, on Friday, March 12, at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are encouraged to support the family by viewing the livestream of Howard’s funeral service.
