Jack Edgar Bridges

Jack E. Bridges was born in 1925, Denver, CO, to Byron E. and Edith (nee Kimmel) Bridges. He died Monday, June 18, 2018 in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Bridges worked as an Electro Magnetic Engineer for the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute of Chicago for over 40 years. He was named in 48 United States patents and over 100 foreign patents. Jack was proud to be a lifetime Fellow with IEEE and was a long-time member of Park Ridge Community Church. He loved to travel and to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was loved by all.

Jack is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha; daughters, Victoria (Randy) Bumgarner, Amelia (Mark) Cieslewicz and Cynthia (Denis) Jones; grandchildren, Lee (Whitney) Bumgarner, Roger (Stephanie) Bumgarner, Karen Cieslewicz, Brian Cieslewicz, Scott Jones and Andrew Jones; great-grandchildren, William Bumgarner, Charlie Bumgarner, Benjamin Bumgarner and Elizabeth Bumgarner.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm Funeral Service at the Odean Johnson Chapel, at the Moorings of Arlington Heights, 811 East Central Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Interment 3:00 pm at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, 520 East Grand Avenue, Elmhurst, IL 60126.
