Jacqueline Emily Hipelius

Jacqueline was born June 8, 1942, the daughter of Mary Ann and Harold Cassell. She grew up in Chicago, IL and attended St. Philomena High School.

Jacqueline met the love of her life, John, in August 1967. They were married on September 27, 1969, at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Chicago and moved to Niles, IL. A few years later, they moved to Prospect Heights, where they raised their family and made their home for the past 53 years. They were longtime members of St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church.

After raising her children, Jacqueline worked at Allstate Motor Club, where she built lasting friendships and took pride in helping others. She had a servant’s heart and found great joy in making people feel welcome—whether through a home-cooked meal, a beautifully set table, or a heartfelt note. She loved to cook and bake, especially for holidays and dinner parties, and her warm hospitality made every gathering feel special. Above all, her most cherished role was that of Grammy. Her grandchildren were her greatest delight, and she poured love into every moment she spent with them.

Jacqueline is survived by her children, Jeff (Amy) Hipelius of Crystal Lake, IL, and Kimberly (Todd) Bartelt of Prospect Heights, IL; her cherished grandchildren, Sean, Lucas, and Mackenzie; her sister, Susan (Frank) McQuade; her brothers-in-law, Thomas (Vivien) Hipelius and James Hipelius; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Hipelius, Jr., and her parents.

Family will be receiving guests from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at St. Alphonsus Liguori, 411 N. Wheeling Rd, Prospect Heights, IL 60070. Entombment to immediately follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, 8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714.
