Though we spent only a short time growing up yet we had some good times together especially during our college years at Philippine Wesleyan College (now University). But the most exciting part of our lives was when you decided to visit the United States. You had life and different dreams. You visited different States and enjoyed every moment. Subsequently asking me to submit a petition to migrate, which I did. Only this time you were with the whole family. But now you left your family again and happy with the Lord! The first time my brother Jaime visited the United States was February 1969. He enjoyed his visit so much that he asked that I petition him. As an American citizen and while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces I was more than happy to facilitate and Jaime’s petition was approved September 1969. Jaime’s stay was extended and he was Blessed to have met an influential person at a well-known restaurant in Old Lyme, Connecticut. This person was Connecticut Senator Thomas J. Todd who introduced a Bill in the Senate for the relaxation of immigration laws which would benefit  my brother and many others. Jaime, however decided to return to the Philippines because of his wife and kids whom he left behind. Once again, Jaime Trusted in God’s will for him and his family and patiently waited for their Visa. Praise the Lord, they were granted their Visa and arrived in the United States in 1979. ‘til we meet again...  Art & family

I met Jaime Capule in Chicago sometime on September 1986.  My family emigrated to the U.S. and arrived in Chicago on August 31, 1986.  I first met his wife, Zenaida at the school where Sherwin and my son, Donny went to.  Surprisingly, Jimmy showed up in the school the next day and invited me to join him for breakfast.  I told him that I was a new guy in town, looking for a job.  We met again the next day and had breakfast again.  He then handed me an employment application form from Little Fuse, Inc, where he worked as a third shift employee at the Materials Dept. Within a week, I was hired by the company with Jimmy providing all the help I need.  I only worked for a month until I was offered a better job (coinciding with my previous work experience in the Philippines)  My Family left Chicago on November 1986, moving to Seattle, Washington.  Six months later, I was lucky enough to get hired byThe Boeing Company  as a Mfg. Engineer until I retired on December 2014 at age 65.  From 1986 to year 2020, there were only few years that we had communication with Jimmy by way of cards, however, the cards started coming back to us. I found myself helpless trying to find Jimmy’s whereabouts until I came across Renato Capule’s name in Facebook in 2020.  Renato is a relative who gave me information about Jimmy.  I found Jimmy's name in Facebook and sent a friend request but no response.  I also sent a friend request to Sherwin and I was so glad he responded.  Sherwin set up a video call on Messenger about two months ago and I finally found Jimmy, talked to him but could not recognize me or remember me at all.  I decided to checked back old photos and found one taken in 1986.  Jimmy, upon seeing our old family photo, exclaimed that he now remembered me.  At that point, I felt so good that I was able to convey how much Jimmy had helped me started a new life here in the U.S. and I am quite so grateful that I met him.  JIMMY, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY MEMORY.  REST IN PEACE, MY FRIEND, AS YOU JOIN OUR CREATOR.  AMEN.  P.S.  Glad to know that you are a Methodist and a Freemason, I am, too.
