James R. "Dick" Davis

Dick was born on November 15,1929, in Chicago to Ray and Janet (nee Fisher) Davis. He spent his youth in Chicago, where he attended Kelvyn Park High School and subsequently graduated from Maine East in Des Plaines. After high school, Dick served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. When he left the military, he headed to college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was a proud U of I alum from the class of 1957.

Following college, Dick began a 37-year career in public service with the United States Civil Service Commission. While at the Commission, he met his wife Corinne (nee Dusablon). His job took them from Chicago to the west coast for three years, where they had their first two children, Susan (Kunz) and Stacy (O’Keefe). They then happily returned to the Chicago area and settled in Arlington Heights where they had their third child, Steven. The family never moved from their Arlington Heights home. They were life-long parishioners of St. Edna’s Catholic Church.

Dick’s pride and joy in the last 20 plus years of his life was his grandchildren. He was a life-long Cubs fan, an avid fisherman with his son, Steven, and one of the kindest people you could have the privilege of knowing.

Dick is survived by his children, Susan (Craig) Kunz, Stacy (Jerry) O’Keefe and Steven (Carrie Green) Davis. He was a loving grandfather to Jack and Marissa Kunz; Devyn and Bryn O’Keefe; and Courtney Giovanni. He was a beloved brother-in-law to Jim Dusablon and Adie Zuckerman and a proud uncle to their children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Corinne (nee Dusablon), his brother Robert W. Davis, and his parents.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10th at St. Edna’s Catholic Church at 2525 North Arlington Heights Road from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM. Entombment All Saints Cemetery.
