Lake Zurich
James Alan Glazbrook, age 47, of Lake Zurich, Illinois passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Jennifer (Meservey), and his beloved daughters, Katie and Hannah. James was born June 3, 1972, the son of Sharon (Sowa) and the late John Glazbrook, Jr. He was the cherished brother of John (Susanne) Glazbrook III and Jennifer (Bob) Collette. He will also be missed by his in-laws Dr. Jerome and Jackie Meservey, brother-in-law John (Amy) Meservey, David Meservey, sister-in-laws Susan Meservey and Meghan (Jeff) Glenn, and his many loving nieces and nephews Emily and Sarah Glazbrook, William and Henry Collette, Maddux Meservey, Nic, and Kylie Pedroza, Brittany and Robert Green, and Aidan, Molly and Drew Glenn.
James attended William Fremd High School in Palatine and then Illinois State University, graduating in the class of 1994. He worked in Quality Assurance through the years; most recently employed at Sysmex America, Inc. as a Quality Assurance Specialist II. While he demonstrated intense integrity in his work, he treasured sharing stories, jokes and family events with many of his fellow workers and friends, who he valued dearly.
James was an individual like no other. His essentials for survival called for more than food, water, and shelter. It was family, music, art, humor, sunshine, and love that fueled his soul. He was the shoulder to cry on, the man that gave the best advice, the constant underdog supporter, and the person who always stood up for the little guys. He loved his family fiercely, saw the best in others, and was a kind, loyal, and gentle soul. He deeply cared for every person that he met.
James was more than a father, husband, brother, or son. He was the author of bedtime spoken-word stories, the pianist of winding down family parties. He was “Sparkle Tree’ and the proud owner of the loudest snorer award. He was the movie fanatic, the father to all who needed one. He was the life of the party. The man to call when you needed to bring the Christmas tree upstairs or move a couch, to help shovel a driveway or to help with yardwork. He was the protector from monsters in the closet, the designated spider remover. He was Jamie, Jim, Two-Jimmies, Uncle Jimmy, and so much more than simply James Glazbrook. He was adored by family and cherished by friends and colleagues. His legacy of kindness, loyalty, acceptance, and love will carry on forever. James was and will continue to be, loved by so, so many.
