

James H. HurleyOf Prospect HeightsOn December 3, 2015 James Harry Hurley, 91, was reunited with the love of his life, for 57 years Jane (nee Anderson). He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children; Cathy Ann (Ken) Beazley; Patti-Lynn (Vince) Franzone; Timothy (Janice) and Janet (Larry) Schumacher.His Fourth of July spirit will live on through his 9 grandchildren Jenni (Mark) Heffernan, Jim (Christina) Boston, Colin and Mairen Beazley, Justin (Gina) Hurley, Kevin Jeffrey Hurley; John Katie Schumacher; 4 great grandchildren Ryan Mia Hurley; Brynley Emery Heffernan and his niece Beth and nephew Rick.Jim was born in Oak Park in 1924 to Harry and Laurette (Nee Johnson); attended St. Viator grade school, and St. Mel"s High School. He enlisted at 18, receiving a Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars while serving in 5th Armored Division in the Rhineland and Ardenne Campaigns. He returned in 1945 to earn a Bachelors degree in 3 years from the University of Illinois and married Jane in 1948.From humble beginnings he worked hard rising through the ranks becoming Director of Sales and Advertising at Masonite and Executive VP/C.O.O of Kar Products. Yet, he was home by 6 for dinner with the family, coaching his kids and serving as a Mount Prospect Park District Commissioner.Friends and family will miss everything (maybe not the monkey joke) about this positive, humorous, and deeply religious man who saw the best in everyone.Memorial gathering Monday, December 7, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Private entombment to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. Alphonsus Liguori Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
