James Lion

James D. Lion, 76, of Arlington Heights, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, with his family by his side. Jim was the beloved father of Sarah Burt (Gene) of Lake in the Hills, grandfather to Jake and Adam Burt, and a very special brother to Ellie and Judy. Jim was also a favorite uncle to Mary, Elizabeth, Katie and Philip, all from San Diego.

Jim was born on June 3, 1948 in New York City to parents Beverly and Harriett Lion. The family later moved to Northbrook where Jim grew up. He chose to remain in the area, as he always loved Chicago. He was passionate about live stage productions on Broadway and their music. He also loved the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and others of that era, as well as watching classic old movies or TV, spending time with friends, or going out to enjoy a great dinner.

Jim was a decorated veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Jim is and will be in our hearts forever.
