Dear James, Ray, Thomas, Nancy, Robert, Katherine, Michael, and family,  As the Director of Alumni Relations Emeritus, I offer you the sympathy and prayers of the Saint Viator High School community.  Our hearts go out to you as you move through your journey of grief.  We pray for you as you continue to share the stories, laugh and cry, and find ways to celebrate the life of your Father and the love you shared.  As I read the obituary for your Father, a man who served his country with distinction, an active parishoner, and a person who “enjoyyed being in the company of family,” I was reminded of a reading from the Book of Sirach.  “Let us praise an illustrious man, 	faithful to his family and friends, strong in his love. At peace in his heart and his world, 	he has left us his good name, and we recount his life of praiseworthy deeds. A generous man his good works will never be forgotten. Among his family and friends remains a rich inheritance born of him…. His name lives on from generation to generation. We gather to sing his praises. We proclaim his wisdom and love of life all our days.”  May you be comforted by the fact that death cannot take away the love, the stories, the faith! I was deeply saddened to read of JP's passing.Although I had only known him for just a few short years, his passing leaves a hole in my heart. He was one of a kind, a real gentleman and with a fascinating personal history. He has a lovely Family who loved and supported him and I know they will miss him terribly. As will I. Hi Tom: Chatterpaul spread the word about the passing of your dad. It was extremely difficult to lose my dad in 1979. He was "my Everything!!" The first thought that came to mind was the good fortune you had in seeing your dad last month. That Thursday night in group you looked alive and happy. I know there were some past issues that you worked out and that was as good for you as it was for him!  My deepest sympathy to you and the Ostler family. You are good technically. I think when you grieve,  fresh thoughts are right there with you. To help in this process think about some type of personal memorial that would mean something to you in remembering the good moments with your dad.  Remember your Campfire Brothers are here for total support whether you need one or all, just call us to talk or ask for something you need. When I grieved, I sat down in some place removed from noise and closed my eyes. I thought of select moments in time that my dad and I celebrated together. I brought his image back to life for myself. So glad for the time I was able to spend with great uncle Jim. An amazing man, sorely missed. Rest In Peace.

We often sat next to both Jim and Audrey at Mass at St. James when we were young.  They were a wonderful couple who raised a wonderful family and we want you to know that they and all of you are always in our prayers. from your Neighbor and Friends,  Joan and Ricardo Cruz and family.
