Jane F. Harden

Jane Frances Harden, 92, passed away on Tuesday March 22, 2011. She was born August 18, 1918 in Boone, Iowa to Clarence and Anna Anderson. Jane graduated from Boone High School in 1935 and from Augustana College in 1939. She sang, soloed and toured with the Augustana choir. She taught music in Durant, Iowa for two years before joining the Meredith Publishing Company in Des Moines, where she was in the personnel department for 10 years. Jane was united in marriage to Clyde Harden on October 29, 1950. They moved to Arlington Heights in 1956 and joined the First Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for over 30 years and was a deacon for three years. She is survived by one daughter, Sue (Steve) Agler; two granddaughters, Lauren (Philip) Bice of Lafayette, CO and Marianne Agler of Denver, CO; two great-grandaughters, Sophia and Madeleine Bice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Clyde and one sister Helen Atkinson. Jane’s family would like to thank her loving caregiver’s at Home Care Advantage in Batavia for their wonderful care during the past three years. Visitation will be on Saturday March 26, 2011 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service 11:00 AM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home 2000 E. Northwest Highway in Arlington Heights.
