She died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Lutheran Home Services in Arlington Heights, Illinois.Mrs. Ganzer was a homemaker for many years. She had a varied career as a receptionist in banking early in her career and later in the medical field. She attended St. Timothy Parish Grammar School and Immaculata High School in Chicago and attended Mundelein College.Janet was a proud homemaker, who had an endless love for her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. "Queenie" had grace and style, a wonderful fashion sense, and a fond interest in shopping at Talbots and Nordstrom. She had an inner strength, a giving heart, and a steady devotion to her family and friends. Janet was extremely delighted to be a part of the "Friday Night Group."Her survivors include her children William T. (Julie) Ganzer of Rolling Meadows, Joan Marie (Gary) Tatje of Arlington Heights, Mary Patricia (Patrick) Powers of Itasca, Thomas G. (Lisa) Ganzer of Barrington, Kathryn Ann (Keith) Allen of Arlington Heights and Janet Nadine Ganzer of Palatine; her grandchildren Lauren (Bob) Rice, Lindsay (Ross) Crane, Leslie Ganzer, Nicole, Dan and Erik Tatje, Megan (Tom) Parker, Shannon and Patrick Powers, Ryan, Christopher and Taylor Ganzer, Tyler and Connor Allen; great granddaughter Isabelle Rose Crane; her sister Dorothy McGurn; her sister in law Dorothy Shook nee Ganzer.She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, and her sisters Mary and Patricia.Visitation from 3:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Prayers 1:15 PM, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the funeral home proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights for 2:00 PM Funeral Mass. Interment private.
