Janet Clare Hynes, 96, was born October 9, 1927, in Oak Park, IL to William and Frances (nee Morris) Riordan. She died Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Northwest Community Hospital, in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Janet was a homemaker who was quick with her Irish Wit and blessed with the gift O' gab. Never a stranger she had. She loved shopping, dancing and dining out but most of all she cherished her large family gatherings. She had a personality that was larger than life and a huge presence in her family.

Janet is survived by her children, Michael (Jane) Hynes, James (Pam) Hynes, Janet (Mark) Weeg, Diane Hynes, John Hynes, Suzanne (Thomas) McKenna, Mary (Mark) Stuber, Ann (Richard) Scully, and Patrick Hynes; her 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George "Bud" Hynes; her parents; and her siblings, Francis Riordan, Rita Beystehner, Geraldine Blummert, Suzanne Serbin, Patrice Furlong, and William Riordan.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, April 15, 2024, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at St. James Catholic Church, 831 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Interment following at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
