

Jean Marie Loiacono (nee Sieja), 88, was born on February 1, 1935 in Chicago and passed away on February 5, 2023. She is survived by her seven children, Annette Cerami, Karen Loiacono, Michael (Rose) Loiacono, John Loiacono, Mary Jean Cieniawa, Carol (Jerry) Mullen and James (Denise) Loiacono; twelve grandchilden; and three great grandchildren. A fond aunt to many. Preceded in death by her parents, Edward M. and Helen King Sieja, sisters Margaret Mary Schaefer and Sr. Mary Edwardine BVM, and brother Ralph Sieja.
Jean earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1956 from Mundelein College. She was hired by Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic School in Arlington Heights as a grade school teacher where she worked for 35 years and she was a parishioner since 1959.
Jean successfully balanced raising a family of seven children with her teaching career. She impacted the lives of over 1,000 students across generations and was a staunch advocate for Catholic education.
Memorial Visitation on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 South Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Chapel Committal Service to follow at 12:45pm at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
