Jean L. Strack

Of Arlington Heights

Jean L. Strack was born March 20, 1940 in Hennepin, IL to Karl and Olga Larson. She died August 11, 2021 at Carondelet Village in St. Paul, MN.

Enthusiastic quilter, she helped members of her Quilt Bee by cutting the thousands of fabric pieces for each of the eight women making the quilt. She invited quilters to select fabric from her plentiful fabric stash that she built initially by guild bus trips to Paducah, Kentucky where Jean often brought home the most fabric.

As a home economist, she frequently gifted friends and neighbors with bakery goods.

As a member of PEO, she supported educational projects with ideas for ways to fund scholarships for women. When her husband John died, she created, funded, and maintained a yearly scholarship for students at John Hersey High school.

Jean is survived by her son Keith (Carrie) Kornatz; her step sons John (Carissa) Strack and Wesley (Denise) Strack and by her grandchildren: Joshua Kornatz, Logan Riccitelli, Isaiah Biniek, Adalyn Biniek, Abbi Strack, Taylor Strack, Branden Strack, John Strack Jr., Alexis Strack, Angelica Strack, Jason Strack, Samantha Strack, and Brianna Blackman.

She is preceded in death by her husband John W. Strack; her siblings Lloyd (Peggy) Larson, Carolyn Larson, Florence Larson and Ramona (Louis) Noll and by her parents.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment Arlington Heights Wheeling Township Cemetery.
