Jill liked to go bowling and she absolutely adored animals. Jill also enjoyed the simple pleasures of time well spent at the senior center, where she especially liked playing Bingo and Bunco.
M&M’s and Cheerios were Jill’s preferred snacks, along with milkshakes and frappes or lattes from McDonalds or Starbucks. Jill took pride in her appearance and carried herself with a “glam” and “glitzy” style, often done up with her makeup and her fancy rings.
Those who knew Jill will remember a woman who found meaning in caring for others—drawn to the role of caretaker simply because she loved people.
Above all, Jill loved her grandchildren. To them, she was their WaWa, and she tried to be at every event or party she could—present, supportive, and proud, making time in ways they will long remember.
Jill is survived by her children, Denise (Sumie) Abdishi, Dorothy Stratton, Dennis (Marla) Lessen; grandchildren, Jill (Rob) Leonard, Lauren (Paul) Schanbacher, Brittany (fiancé Sam) Abdishi, Tyler (Erin) Abdishi, Zachary Abdishi, Katelin Lessen; great-granddaughter, Avery Leonard; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Jack O’Brien.
Any memorial donations under Jill’s name may be made out to The Alzheimer's Association, 225 N Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
