Joan F Macior

Joan Frances Macior passed away peacefully in Elk Grove Village, Illinois on April 27, 2025. She was 88 years old. Joan was born on February 15, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois to Frederick and Frances (nee Ockerlund) Sheridan.

Joan raised three children and had a loving home with them in Park Ridge, Illinois. Later, she would move to Chicago and then Mount Prospect, Illinois where she helped care for her elderly father. She worked many years as an exceptional Floral Designer. She took pride in and enjoyed designing beautiful flowers and arrangements for many family member’s weddings, which made it so special. She had a passion for drawing and was very good at it. She would draw pictures for her family often. She volunteered for awhile, through a program to help children read. Family meant everything to her. She especially took joy in being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she tried to see the ones that lived locally nearly everyday. Her warmth, kindness and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

Joan is survived by her three children: Steven (Monica) Macior, Thomas Macior and Kathleen (Scott) Rymark; three grandchildren: Taylor Frances (Sotero) Marroquin, Lindsey (Joseph) Trinite and Olivia Macior; four great grandchildren: Ava Marroquin, Lucca Marroquin, Ruby Joan Trinite and Weston Marroquin; her brother, Edward (Carol) Sheridan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard Sheridan.

A celebration of Joan’s life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, visitation at 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and lunch following, both at The Palm Court, 1912 N. Arlington Height Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois. Friends and family are invited to attend and share their memories.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Journey Hospice for their compassionate care and the staff of the Pearle of Elk Grove.
