JoAnn Kempton was born on February 21, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to John and Stella (nee Dendor) Lojkovic. She died peacefully in the early hours of Friday, June 25, 2021, at her home.
She enjoyed camping, sewing, bowling on the Our Lady of Wayside ladies bowling league, spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling with her husband. She was a long-time resident of Arlington Heights and a devoted parishioner of OLW for over 60 years. Before retiring Mrs. Kempton was an office clerk for High School District #211. She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Scott (Margaret) Kempton, Brian Kempton, Craig Kempton, and Victoria (Brad) Wiley; her daughter-in-law Phyllis Kempton; her grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Cassidy, Allyson, Stacie, Sara, Kayleigh, Carly, Melissa, Michael, Zoe, Veronica, Colleen, Hannah, and Hope; her great-grandchildren, Peyton, Connor, Savannah, and Isla: her brothers, Phillip Lojkovic, and Paul (Donna) Lojkovic; and her ex-daughter-in-law Terri Kempton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin "Chester" Kempton; her sons, Allan Kempton, and Gary Kempton; her daughter-in-law, Gayle Kempton; her parents; and her brother, John Lojkovic.
Visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Monday, June 28, 2021, at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 South Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Burial following at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
