Joanne Marie "Joan" Kearney, 89, was born August 14, 1934, in Chicago, IL to Richard and Eileen (nee Reardon) Keehan. She died Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Oak Trace in Downers Grove, Illinois surrounded by her children.
Mrs. Kearney was a former chemist, homemaker, and librarian for the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. She maintained lifelong friendships, from her early school years through college, demonstrating her loyalty and care for those close to her.
Joanne was deeply involved in her church community at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church. She adorned her home with the aromas of her fabulous cooking, showcasing her culinary skills, and delighted many with her creativity as an accomplished seamstress. Joanne's talents extended to being an excellent hostess, creating memorable moments for all who had the pleasure of her company.
Joanne is survived by her children Anne (Paul) Tague, Jeanna (Douglas) Claussen, John (Patricia) Kearney, and Kathy (Tom) Neumeyer; her grandchildren Ryan (Traci) Tague, Andrew (Emily) Tague, Colin Tague, Brendan Claussen, Elliot (Erin) Tague, Tim Claussen, Joseph Neumeyer, Jennifer Claussen, Nathan Tague, Michael Neumeyer, Brian Kearney, and Julia Neumeyer; her great grandchildren, Avery, Quinn, Violet, Parker, Eloise, and Graham and her sisters Jeanne Wilson and Patricia Keehan.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Kearney; her parents, her brother and sister-in-law Richard and Mary Lou Keehan; her brother-in-law, Jack Wilson; her sister-in-law Marybeth Rauch; and her nephew Edward Rauch.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 South Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Interment private.
