He was born the only child to the late Maxwell and Rita (née Hazel) Broskuf. He grew up in Jefferson Park where his great aunts Blanche, Inez, and Angie helped raise him. He attended Beaubien Elementary School and graduated from Lutheran High School. He also took some college courses where he earned an associates degree. Joel worked in the car industry for many years and was good at selling cars. He was in the insurance business for a while. He moved to San Diego in 2012 with his pug dog, Rebel, and later bought a car wash. He enjoyed the San Diego life while making many friends. Rebel was the joy of his life and it showed because he took him everywhere he went. He got Hairy who is a pug and they became inseparable. Joel moved from San Diego after living there for seven years to Vegas. There he immediately made many friends. Joel was a kind and fun loving man who had the biggest heart. All he wanted was to smile and not frown and try not to hurt anyone along the way. That was his mantra. It’s no surprise that so many people loved him. Joel is preceded in death both his parents, his aunt Blanche, Inez, Angie, and his beloved dog Rebel. He leaves to cherish his soulmate Jackie or "Bunny" the nickname that he affectionately called her and his pug doggie Hairy. He had a host of friends but he leaves to cherish: Joe Boscoe, Maria Espinoza, Gil and Jodie Torres, Michelle Delacruz, Sergio Leon, Scott Ryan, Kathleen Haidl, Zachary (Z) Austin, Norb Funk, Karla Woolverton, Kathy Clifford, Tiffany Garcilazo, and Mike (Mikey) Allen. The list is long but there is no room to list them all.
My sweetie, my love you are flying with the angels now.
