He passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 surrounded by family at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, IL.John was married to his adored wife, Ernestine Buckner (nee Vinci) for 46 years. He is survived by two children Kris (Kerry) Persons and John (Stacy) Buckner and four beautiful grandchildren Nicholas, Joey, Jack and Charlotte who benefited from complete love and attention from their grandfather.John was a Vietnam veteran and was a very accomplished man in business. He began his career at Reynolds Reynolds where he spent 20 years there. Later, he retired after a decade from CCC Information Services in 1999.Although he achieved a lot professionally, he will be most remembered for setting an example for many friends and family to follow. He was a natural leader and mentor to so many. He was dedicated to ensuring his family was loved and flourished. He will leave long lasting memories and lessons and big footsteps to follow in.Memorial Service 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights.
