John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary F. (nee Kierzyk), and his siblings, Walter Chmielowski and Mary Jamrose. He is survived by his loving daughters, Alice (John) Kus and Albertha Kurnik, as well as his adoring grandchildren, Johnny Kus, Allyson Kus, and Alana Kurnik.
In his leisure time, John enjoyed fishing and mushroom foraging, often cooking up a delicious steak meal to accompany his finds. John will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Glueckert Funeral Home, located at 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, on January 9, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. The Funeral Service will follow at the same venue from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm. Procession and Graveside Committal will take place at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 1185 Algonquin Rd, Palatine, IL 60067, at 12:30 pm.
