Thanks for the Jewel coffee cakes and the Entenmann's donuts on the weekends and the celebration dinners at Kampai! I do carry on the donut tradition on the weekends.

Thanks for all of your prayers of protection over me and prayers over my life. I dont even know if I would be alive right now without them, I did so many stupid things in high school and college. Thanks for the karaoke machine and the floor piano so I could feel like I was on the movie Big. Thanks for teaching me how to drive and acting like it was no big deal going on the highway for the first time.

I remember one time when I was 12 I was looking out the window from the house while you were watering the flowers and I had a thought that you died. It brought me to tears and I ran outside to tell you about it and you said, "Really? , we'll, Col, if I had to go while I was watering the flowers, then that would be a pretty good way to go."

(Continued part2) Oh yeah, I dont want to forget to say thanks for slip n slide with Max Hedrem tshirts, for the seasonal trips to Venture and Payless Shoes, trips to Randhurt Mall and eating Cinnabon with extra cream cheese frosting, microwave popcorn, freezer burnt neopoliton ice cream, thanks for taking us to play tennis on the courts by granny's house that was the best!, the times when you were going to spank us but then started laughing instead, watching our ridiculous dance shows that we put together all day and then would just walk back and forth once you were actually watching, and thanks for doing "the lift" for me so that I could feel like Jennifer Grey in Dirty Dancing, thanks for accepting a Payday bar every bday and father's day and for letting me invite my girlfriends over in 8th grade for my bday, you were the best Dad ever, my friends even said so.

Thanks for the summer trips to Lake Geneva and taking me fishing with grandpa (man the mosquitos were horrible), Thanks for singing Celine Dion Christmas album at the top of your lungs, thanks for the hilarious dance moves you would randomly do in the living room, thanks for sticking up for me to the cops when I crashed my first car and telling them to back off and that I was a good kid, Thank you for always being there, Thanks for being the light of my life. You were everything to me.  You were the embodiment of my heavenly Father for many years and I am eternally grateful for the time we were able to share together. My prayer is that the best of you can live on through my children, that they can be kind, patient, gentle, generous, loving, funny, and share life in harmony with God and each other and that your precious traits shine through them. Amen.

Sorry Dad, I just found out you passed a couple of days ago, 20 minutes after the Memorial Service ended, so I haven’t been able to fully collect my thoughts and what is still spewing out of my heart. So here it goes…Thank you for making me feel safe. Thank you for the Saturday morning rides in your truck and the special one-on-one times we had over dinner at Artemis or in Dekalb when you would pick me up from college. Thank you for all of the God talks we would have. It really felt like I had someone I could really share myself with when I returned to Christ. Thank you for putting up with me through all of my defiant rebellious years and drawing lines in the sand that helped me find my way back home. I know I was not the most pleasant person, to say the least. Thank you for paying off my college debt that I owed, I know I couldn’t afford it since I went off to serve the Lord (my heavenly Father has got you covered on that one).  Thank you for all of the Blockbuster Video and Garabaldi’s nights, the leaf piles we made in the frontyard, catching lightening bugs after church on Saturday nights, going to TCBY for frozen yogurt. Thanks for dragging me to Sunday school kicking a screaming when I was 5 (I learned all about sins that day, I remember). Thanks for letting me cook you some chicken nuggets when I was 15 (you ate them even thought they were raw), and even attempting to make granny’s cobbler (that didn’t turn out so good…lol). Thanks for the Brown’s Chicken family picnics we had in Elk Grove, the many portillos, taco bell, arby’s, dondi’s pizza nights. Thanks for letting me have bites of your Catalina dressing salads with cottage cheese and telling me how granny used to like them, Thanks for going back to the grill with my steaks to make them more well done, thanks for making sloppy joes, Thanks for all of the Barbie stuff, the doll house you got for me (that I may have been too greedy for).

I am grateful to God for my Dad because without him I never would have met Jesus. I remember when I was 7 I was with him in his truck and he talked to me about asking Jesus to come into my heart and forgiving me of my sins. From that day forward I would always pray to Jesus every night. I know that my Dad helped lay the foundation I needed to become a devoted Christ follower. I will be eternally grateful for his love, kindness, humor. I know I haven't been able to be with him in this life, and I know he hasn't been able to see me in light of the truth, but I know he does now that he is with the Lord. He has left an eternal legacy in my life and he has left behind a daughter, Colleen Livingston (Phil Livingston), and 7 precious children who honor God and are devoted and faithful followers of Christ. Isaac, Lucas, Samuel, Noah, Jon, Joseph, and Monica. My family are real people with real convictions to warn the earth of Return of Christ. We may be too radical for some people to handle, but we are still real living souls willing to die for Christ. Love you, Dad, and I look forward to making up for lost time in the eternity or eternities. Colleen.

With deep sadness, we remember our long-time client and friend, John Steinbraker, who recently passed away. For many years John was more than just a client to us—he was a steady, kind presence whose gentle spirit left a mark on everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

John will always be remembered as a warm, loving, and genuinely good man. He approached every conversation with kindness, every challenge with calm, and every person with respect. His quiet strength and steady support were felt not only in the work we did together, but in the way he treated people—with patience, generosity, and sincerity.

We are grateful for the many years of trust and partnership. John’s memory will remain with us, and he will always be remembered with appreciation, affection, and heartfelt respect.

May he rest in peace.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of John.
John was not just an employer—he was a true leader, mentor, and friend.  He led with humility and strength, balancing high expectations with genuine care for those around him. 
His encouragement gave us confidence, and his trust gave us room to grow.  
Rest in peace, John. I will miss you and never forget you.

I have so many fond memories of John that I can’t recount them all. He was a smart, kind, Caring and compassionate man. A wonderful, giving person. And a loving father and husband. Heaven is now an even brighter place.

John was a great guy. He was my water skiing teacher, my painting instructor and a “Jack of all trades”.  I will dearly miss him and never forget him.  His earthly time is over,  his well deserved heavenly time just began.

Always loved going to John’s around Christmas time. He will be missed but I am glad he’s with the Lord.

It’s with a broken heart that I share the passing of my dear friend, John. He was one of the most generous people I’ve ever met — not just with material things, but with something far more valuable. He gave his time, his knowledge, his wisdom, and in his own special way, so much love.

John taught me countless lessons just by being himself. I learned how to copy the good things, to stay positive even when things didn’t go as planned. I can still hear him saying his famous phrase whenever life threw us a curveball: “It is what it is.”

I’m going to miss him deeply. He’ll always be in my heart and memory — until I see you again, Pops.

John would come and see me perform if I was in a show. I really appreciated it and I will forever miss his support, love you John.

The Scurto family will always have fond memories of John AKA “Elden” in  our home! He was always there organizing some project! Having coffee and conversation! Even letting the kids in off the school bus! We will miss you! A life well lived, God Bless you John.
