Joseph U. Bottalla was born April 25, 1929 in Italy to Ruggiero and Dorothy (nee Rinella) Bottalla. He died December 19, 2021 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Joe started working for his family-owned cab company, American United Cab Association, before working for Beaulieu Real Estate Company for over 60 years. He held several board positions within the Real Estate industry, namely President of The Northwest Real Estate Board. He actively supported the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans, Unico National and the Sicilian American Cultural Association (SACA). Joe and Helene enjoyed wintering in Naples, FL., where they enjoyed playing golf and spending time with their friends. His greatest passion and love was spending time with his family and friends.
Joseph is survived by his wife Helene R. (nee Ryan) Bottalla; his children Roger (Judy) Bottalla, Cathy (Rusty) Macy, Cindy (Brett) Stokes and Linda (Mike) Unger, Steve (Becky) D'Angelo and Sue (Jim) McKenna; his grandchildren Jeremy (Aurora), Joseph (Hannah), Patrick (Kelly), Megan (Matt), Brett (Lauren), Lindsey (Taylor), Kevin, Alexander, Patrick (Shelby), Erin, Ryan, Christopher, Brandon (fiancé Lauren) and Sara; his great grandchildren Seraphina, Elani, Will and Cleo; his siblings Aldo (Iris) Bottalla, James (late Helen) Bottalla and Anna Marie (Bill) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Anthony (late Mary) Bottalla and Umberto Bottalla and by his parents.
Funeral Mass 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell Ave., Arlington Heights. Funeral Mass will be Live Stream. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
