Joseph was married to his highschool sweetheart, Charlene Ruta, and they celebrated 54 years of marriage together. Joseph, an electrical engineer by trade in research and development, worked at S&C Electric in Chicago for 30 years. He holds numerous U.S. patents for inventions in the transformer technology space. Enjoying retirement for the last 18 years, he invested where it mattered most - his family, church, and friends.
Joseph loved Jesus and led his family in ministry service throughout his life. A quiet and humble servant, he modeled the ways of Jesus that impacted hundreds of their closest family and friends. Whether serving at Harvest Bible Chapel through production and sound, or volunteering on the communion team, Joseph was always available to better the lives of those whom he encountered.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Charlene Ruta; children Matthew (wife, Beth; grandchildren, Kate and Christian) Ruta, David (wife, Caroline; grandchildren, Evangeline and Elise) Ruta, and Daniel (wife, Grace; grandchildren, Elliot and Wells) Ruta. He also leaves behind an extended family of loved siblings, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Joseph journeyed with Jesus into his everlasting life in Christ with his wife holding his hand, his three sons beside him, and his three daughters and six grandchildren surrounding him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Michalina as well as his brother Casimir.
