Josephine Ann Ciffone

Josephine was born on 12/22/1925 in Chicago to Rosa and Giovanni Ravalli. She was a 1944 graduate of Wells High School. Married in 1945 to WW2 veteran Salvatore Ciffone (deceased in 1996). She worked as a telephone operator early in life and used her gift of gab to excel in various sales, service-oriented, marketing and secretarial positions. Her many years at RCA established lifelong friendships.

Josephine was a dear friend to many because of her cheerful, positive attitude and for her great capacity to make others laugh and address life’s problems. Always acting much younger than her years, Jo could be found in the dance halls doing the foxtrot, waltz, and jitterbug well into her 90’s. Resilient, optimistic, and inventive, she turned her garage into a living room during the shutdown, continuing to host her treasured family and friends. Josephine recently celebrated her 100th birthday with a party attended by over 100 of her dearest friends and family, demonstrating her influence and lasting impact upon those who knew her. Despite 100 years of life, and confidence that she is now safely and joyfully home, she will be dearly missed.

Josephine is survived by her children Geraldine Ciffone, John Ciffone, Michael (Joanne) Ciffone, Gerald (Marcia) Ciffone, Theresa (Brian deceased) Davis and Anthony Ciffone. Her grandchildren include Leah Cosentino, Michael J (Meghan) Ciffone, Nicholas (Alyssa) Ciffone, Michael N (Allie) Ciffone, and Sarah (Nate Gardziella) Davis. Josephine’s great grandchildren include Kendall Cosentino, Riley Ciffone, Nolan Ciffone, Felix Ciffone and Salvatore Ciffone. Other beloved immediate family members include Katie Adrian and Roberta Reinhardt.

Visitation will be held at Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home at 2000 E. Northwest Hwy Arlington Heights, IL 60004 from 4pm to 8pm on Friday April 10th. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday April 11th at Saint James Catholic Church 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd. in Arlington Heights. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
