

Josephine Ann Lang was born on September 26, 1926, in Chicago, IL to Salvatore and Caroline (Barranco) Cangelosi. She died on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Addolorata Villa in Wheeling surrounded by her loving family.
Josephine lived an incredible 97 years with the gift of having both control of her mind and body. She always knew the names of all her 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and was still very independent and mobile.
She was the finance manager and a travel agent for the family-owned Lincoln Park Travel agency in Chicago. She retired from Carson Pirie Scott at Randhurst in 1984 after working there 22 years.
She and her husband Albert settled in Wheeling in 1956 and were part of the founding members of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Wheeling. They loved Wheeling and were both big influencers in the community.
As all Langs do, Josephine loved to travel. She and Al extensively traveled the world and instilled the importance to her children of knowing how other cultures live and how we can all get along.
Josephine is survived by her children Mary (Rob) Obodzinski, Rose (Jim) Ruffatto, Sue Crady, Ray (Deb) Lang, Terese (Matt) McDonald and Julie (Glen Barber) Lang; her grandchildren Anne Pohlman, Jim (Danielle) Ruffatto, Rob (Charlotte) Obodzinski, Michael (Kara) Ruffatto, Cari (Mike) Allendorf, Katy (Rob) Allen, Emily (Zach) Nadaud, Montana (Camille) Crady, Tony Lang, Ahkeem (Ai) Lang, Alex (John Darby) McDonald, Lauren (Adam) Tregoning, Andy Lang, Darryl Crady, Nick Lang, Deon Lang, Stephen Crady, Kayla Lang, Indigo Lang; her great grandchildren Ben, Caleb, Tessa & Marcus Ruffatto, Christopher, Dillon, Zoey & Bennett Pohlman, Sam & Max Ruffatto, Robbie & Joanna Obodzinski, Miles & Jason Allen, Luke & Sophie Allendorf, Jackson, Hudson, Mason & Emerson Nadaud, Isaiah Lang, Dominic Crady, Lou Crady.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Albert W. Lang; her son Albert J. Lang; her parents as well as her siblings Rose (John) Oklicz, Sam (Dorothy) Cangelosi & Mary (Ken) Bartizal. Mary, amazingly passed just hours before Josephine on December 9th.
Josephine leaves behind many, many nieces and nephews and a few cousins in Cefalu, Italy. She welcomed Carolina Polvani from Genoa, Italy in 1979 to live with the family as part of the international student exchange program through Wheeling High School. Carolina remains a dear daughter to this day.
Visitation Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Funeral Mass Monday, December 18, 2023, at 10:00am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 181 West Dundee Road, Wheeling, IL 60090. Interment will be private.
