Joyce Ann Fitzgerald

Joyce Ann Fitzgerald, 87, of Wheeling, IL, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025 after a brave battle with cancer. She was born in Chicago on February 5th, 1938 to Thomas & Marie Fitzgerald. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a beloved friend. Joyce worked for as a court clerk for Cook County for 30 years. She was a member of Saint Alphonsus Liguori Church and was active in the SPRED program and a devoted supporter of the Buddy Foundation.

Joyce is survived by her 3 children, Denise (Keith) Thompson-Batt, Kevin (Nancy) Thompson, and Patricia Thompson. She has 11 grandchildren, Jay (Leah) Batt, Laura (Ryan) Melton, Christopher Batt, Samantha Thompson, Stephanie Thompson, Stefan Thompson, Sean Thompson, Walter Thompson, Justin Thompson, Taryn Thompson & Matthew (Elise) Potts; 5 Great-Grandchildren, Matthew Fitzgerald Batt, Graham Batt, Aubrie Melton, Easton Melton & Greyson Melton; sister, Geraldine Waelti; and nieces Marrette Winters & Joy Adams.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Joyce to The Buddy Foundation, 65 West Seegers Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.

Family will be receiving guests on Monday, August 18, 2025 at St Alphonsus Liguori Church, 411 N Wheeling Rd, Prospect Heights, IL 60070 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
