Joyce Vida Bendicion So was born on April 19, 1983, in Quezon City, Philippines. She died Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights. She fought a hard long battle with cancer since 2012 and is finally at peace.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Lenny So, whom she married September 13, 2008; her daughter, Hailey So; her father, Urbano Bendicion; her brothers, Jerome, John Patrick, and Jason Bendicion and her sisters, Jennivee Bendicion, and Angelika Borda. She was the granddaughter of the late Isaias and Maria Teresa Bendicion.

Joyce graduated from Lane Tech High School in 2001, received a bachelor’s in nursing in 2005 from North Park University, and worked as a nurse for Resurrection Medical Center for 7 years. She was formerly employed with St. Martha Manor in Chicago.

She loved to bake, do arts and crafts, and play video games in her spare time. She was kindhearted, generous, and a driven person which had her create a canned food drive for the local community for several years.

Visitation from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm, Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Face masks are required to enter Joyce's visiting room.
