

Judith Ann "Judy" Utendorf, born on January 27, 1940, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, after a courageous battle with pancreatic and liver cancer.
Judy was the beloved wife of Allan “Bud” and a devoted mother to her children, Mark (Janice) and Cheryl (Neil) Swindells. She cherished her role as grandmother to Chloe, Jack, Max, and Maya. Judy was the daughter of Byron and Helen Tuyls and was preceded in death by her sister MaryAnn Sinkler. She is survived by her brothers John Tuyls (Donna) and Jim Tuyls (Patti).
Judy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections. She had a passion for travel and especially enjoyed spending time with Bud on Marco Island, Florida. Judy found joy spending time with her friends in exercise classes, playing bridge, attending Cubs games in the city, or just having lunch. A talented cook and gracious host, she delighted in entertaining family and friends at gatherings that were always filled with warmth and good humor. Holidays were packed with traditions and were always extra special.
Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart; she treasured every moment spent with them. Judy also gave generously of her time as a long-time volunteer at Northwest Community Hospital and Marco Island Urgent Care. Her vibrant personality and sharp sense of humor brought joy to all who knew her.
A private service for immediate family will be held to honor Judy’s memory.
Judy’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
