June Catherine Franks

June Catherine Franks was born on October 7, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Martha (nee Fleischman) Grimes. She died Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Church Creek Senior Living in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

June was the 3rd of 4 children of Arthur and Martha Grimes. She grew up in the Chicago area during the 30s and 40s and married Joseph Franks in 1955. She was a dedicated and supportive wife and mother to her husband and two children, a son Steven, and a daughter Catherine. Mrs. Franks was a primarily a homemaker who loved cooking, baking, sewing and gardening, passing on these skills to her children.

She shepherded the family through multiple moves around the country in support of Joe's career with the family settling in Colorado Springs, CO for many years. As Steve and Cathie formed families of their own, June and Joe settled in Kenosha, WI close to family enjoying the arrival of their grandson Spencer in 1995. Tragically Joseph died in 1999. June continued on as a supportive mother and grandmother living to the impressive age of 95. She will be lovingly remembered by all.

June is survived by her son Steven P. (Kathleen) Franks; her daughter Catherine A. (Richard) Tarsa; as well as her grandson Spencer J. Franks.

She was preceded in death by her spouse Joseph Charles Franks; her granddaughter Haley Franks; her parents as well as her siblings Elizabeth Burgess, Ralph Grimes and Arthur Grimes.
