Kaila Marie Anderson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kaila Marie Anderson of Long Grove, Illinois, on June 15, 2024. Born May 20, 2001, in Chicago, Illinois, she is survived by her loving mothers, Sandra Budnik Anderson and Elizabeth A. Dietz; cherished sister of Kristen Ann; dearly loved by her special friends, Basia Oledzka and Shirley Samuels; Fond niece to Roy (Grace) Budnik, Judy (Donald) Gabrick, Susan (Michael) Dietz and Lori (Brian) Mercer; Goddaughter of Peter (Ariel) Budnik; cherished cousin of Josh (Ryanne) Mercer and many others.

Kaila came into our lives at 5 weeks old. She continued to amaze and surprise us throughout her short life. She not only changed us into parents, she changed our total outlook on life. Growing up, Kaila loved ice skating, track and orchestra. She participated in many competitions, winning some, but always trying her best. She was a creative artist and writer and had a natural skill for understanding and learning foreign languages.

Kaila especially loved her sister and partner in crime, Kristen. From the moment Kristen came home, Kaila was smitten. They were best friends, who shared many confidences, games and adventures. They had long talks about friends, boys and their parents. They sang in the car on the way to school where Kaila introduced Kristen to rap and her favorite artists. Kaila loved to make people laugh with her silliness, always checking up on everyone else and making sure they were safe.

Kaila was a 2019 graduate of Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL. She is predeceased by her uncle Michael (Susan) Dietz and aunt Theodora (Roy) Budnik.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am on Friday, July 5th, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Buffalo Grove, Il.
