Karen Wallis Hollinger, 75, passed away peacefully in her home on November 16, 2025.
Karen is survived by her devoted husband, Walt, and her children, Michael Hollinger (Cathy Carpenter) and Geoffrey Hollinger (Bridget Tyler). She was a loving grandmother to Zachary, Genevieve, and Antoinette, each of whom brought her tremendous joy.
Karen had a thirty-year career as a Professor of English and Film Studies at Georgia Southern University (Armstrong campus). She authored four books on feminist film theory and women in film. She enjoyed teaching and was deeply committed to her students and colleagues.
Born in Chicago to Antoinette and Walter Stollstorff, Karen grew up in a close-knit family. She was a beloved niece to Georgianna and Bernice Stollstorff.
A private celebration of her life will be held in her honor.
