Interment will be private.

You might have laughed with her in the office where she worked, or been a child she cheered up on the school bus she later drove, or been “one of the guys” at the construction yard where she picked up her semi-truck every morning as a Teamster. Or maybe you met her in church on Sunday or when “meals on wheels” were needed for someone who couldn’t make it. Or maybe during a spontaneous conversation in the aisles of Knupper’s Nursery while picking this Spring’s plantings- or even during one her many hospital stays that inevitably included daily prayer with her new friends there. Regardless of which facet of her life brought you in contact with Kathy, it’s easy to believe that her giving spirit and zest for Christ must have led to the words, “Well done my good and faithful servant” upon her heavenly arrival.

Born into this world in Japan as an “Army brat,” she left this world to meet her creator with her children by her side. She reunites with those who preceded her in death: Love of her life Henry (“Gary”) Markl, Mother and Father, Jane and John Ellish, and many other loved ones who’ve been waiting to welcome her.

Kathy was blessed with the fulfillment of her loving family:

Son Jon Markl (fiancé Diana Guyer) with grandchildren Taylor and Jakub;

Daughter Tammy Markl (fiancé Timothy Sperling with son Caleb);

Loving caregiver and friend Raymond Nowikowski;

Brother Rick Ellish, sister-in-law Cheryl, nephew Chad, nephew Nic (Gabby), niece and Goddaughter Kendra (Steven), and nephew R.J. (Nicole);Brother Jay Ellish, sister-in-law Kris, nephew Jeffery (Cortney), and niece Brittany.

She also leaves behind many beautiful great-nephews and great-nieces.
