Kathryn F. Moats was born May 21, 1921 in Leighton, Iowa to the late Isaac and Marie (nee Dusenberry) Herny and passed away July 17, 2012 at Church Creek Nursing Center in Arlington Heights. Kathryn was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Robert R. Moats Sc.D.; loving mother of Larry (Carolyn) Moats, Elaine M. (Michael) Curran, Elizabeth J. (Marshall) Rose, Virginia A. (Michael) Prisco, Paul F. Moats and the late Margaret Moats; cherished grandmother of 14; great grandmother of 2 and dear sister of the late John (Marilyn) Herny. Visitation will Saturday July 21, 2012 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral mass 10:30 AM at the Carmelite Monastery 1101 N. River Road Des Plaines, IL 60016. Interment will follow the mass at the South Side Cemetery in Palatine. Kathryn will be fondly remembered for her love of gardening and her many contributions to horticultural organizations in Illinois. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Carmelite Monastery or the Red Cloud Indian School 100 Mission Drive Pine Ridge, South Dakota 57770-2100.
