

He was born on March 12, 1924 in the Fujian province of China to Wan Ming Jiang and Shun Di Lü.
Mr. Jiang was a renowned Physics and Mathematics teacher in China for over 40 years after graduating from Shī Fàn University, Fujian's oldest university and one of China's most time-honored teachers’ colleges. As a teacher, he was well-beloved by his students, for whom the impacts of his teaching and care are still felt today. He was a member and head of the Amoy High School Physics Teachers' Research Association. In 1989, he moved with his wife to the Chicago area to be with his children.
His interests and hobbies included teaching his grandchildren math, chess and similar games, and reading. He is well-remembered by those close to him for being witty and clever with wordplay and jokes, despite his usual reticence.
Ke Ying is survived by his spouse of 71 years, Gui Zhen Lin; his children Ming Guang (Ying Ying Lin) Jiang of Chicago, IL, Jin Jin (Craig) Sandford of Buffalo Grove, IL, and Dr. Tan (Hong Ying Tu) Jiang of Valparaiso, IN; 6 grandchildren, Dr. Zi Yang (Jasmine Go) Jiang, Jolyn Sandford, Jialing Jiang, Chris Sandford, Lucia Jiang, and Henry Jiang; and 2 great-grandchildren, Theodore Jiang and Victoria Jiang. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wan Ming Jiang and Shun Di Lü; and 11 siblings.
Funeral mass will be held Saturday, November 14th, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Parish, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089 (capacity limits, PPE requirements and social distancing in effect). Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family, with the intent of setting up a memorial scholarship in Mr. Jiang's name.
