OBITUARY

Keith A. Mikell

September 12, 1964 – August 13, 2026
Obituary of Keith A. Mikell
IN THE CARE OF

Glueckert Funeral Home

Keith A. Mikell, 61, of Arlington Heights, IL, passed away on August 13, 2026. He was born September 12, 1964 the son of Lorraine and Charles “Pat” Mikell.

Keith will be remembered with deep respect for the steady, capable way he moved through life—someone others could count on. A natural problem-solver and a trusted hand in any home, he was the person people called when something needed to be made right. Whether painting with remarkable precision using either hand or taking on small plumbing and electrical jobs, Keith brought care, patience, and pride to the work before him.

Away from the day-to-day, Keith found joy in simple pleasures and time well spent. He enjoyed camping, especially at the Illinois Beach State Park, and took pleasure in trading out his cars. He also loved watching basketball, along with other sports—moments that brought relaxation, conversation, and connection.

Above all else, Keith loved his family. He was always there to support his children, Michelle and Ryan, serving as a constant rock they could lean on. He adored his only grandson, Duncan, and held that role with unmistakable tenderness and devotion. Keith’s son Ryan carries a strong gratitude for his father’s support and helping hand during his struggle with addiction over the years. Keith’s support goes beyond what many family’s would have done in the circumstances. Ryan is glad that his father got to see him sober and healthy during the end of his life and will always cherish him and his helping demeanor.

Keith A. Mikell will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all who knew him.

Keith is survived by his loving wife, Mary Mikell; children, Michelle (Brian) Nelson and Ryan Mikell; grandson, Duncan Nelson; and his brother, Kevin Mikell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lorraine and Charles “Pat” Mikell.

Any memorial donations under Keith’s name may be made out to the Mikell Family.

Services will be private.
