Kenneth G. Koeppl was born on February 9, 1943 in Chicago to Charles and Ann (nee Mulner) Koeppl. He died Sunday, March 28, 2021 in Elk Grove Village.
Ken worked for Pharmaceutical Basics Inc. as general manager and director of quality control, before franchising his General Nutrition Centers in Madison, WI. He also worked for The Boots Company, Flint Laboratories, Baxter Travenol, the Wallerstein Division where he contributed to and developed the current Federal Regulations governing the use of enzymes in food products (GRAS) as a member of the Ad Hoc Enzyme Technical Committee. Ken also worked for J. E. Siegel Sons Company as a research chemist where he co - authored five technical papers on the evaluation of brewing products. He was a member of the American Society of Brewing Chemists. Ken was known by those who knew him as an Honorable, loyal, and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, cousin and a friend to many. He reached out to those in trouble, helping children and teenagers, the elderly, the handicapped and so many other people with problems who were unable to cope by themselves. Ken’s care gave people a chance to live, to work, to grow and to help themselves in life. Ken was a blessing to all who knew and loved him, including his dogs, cats, birds, and lizards.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda (nee Wydra); children, Mark (Kathy) Koeppl and Kenneth A. (Ann) Koeppl; grandchildren, Christopher Koeppl, Jaimie (Michael) Flores, Sara Koeppl, Rebecca Koeppl, Carolyn Sherrick, and Justin Sherrick; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Diane Wydra, Sharon Wydra, Anne Jerinic and Jean (Harry) Sebastion; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Antonelli, Michael Wydra, Paul (Karen) Wydra, Stephen Wydra, Gary (Paula) Wydra, Peter (Gina) Wydra, Christopher Wydra;, David (Marianne) Wydra, Philip (Carol) Wydra, Daniel (Jenny) Wydra; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Juanita A. Koeppl; his parents; sister, Sharon Antonelli; parents-in law Henry and Barbara Wydra; and brother-in-law, Michael Wydra.
Visitation Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 10:00 am until the 12:00 pm Memorial Service at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., (capacity limits, PPE requirement, and social distancing in effect).,1520 North Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment is private.
