Kent Richard Krenek

He was a loving husband and caregiver to his high school sweetheart of 49 years, caring Father and a dedicated Papa who never missed his grandchildren’s recitals or sporting games.

Kent enjoyed playing many sports throughout his life, favorites of basketball, and baseball. He went to Valporaiso University in Indiana with a Bachelors Degree in History. Kent went on to have a successful career as a regional sales manager at various electronics distributors. He was a mentor to many younger associates in business. He enjoyed golf, and after retiring, started working part-time at Arlington Lakes Golf Course. He was a big fan of all things Chicago sports, and would often spend time at the Arlington Race Track. Some of his favorite places to travel where to Phoenix, Arizona and to visit his sister Karrie and family in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Kent was a provider to his family, a loyal friend, and a great brother to Karrie, who he loved to go to rock ‘n’ roll concerts with.

Kent is survived by his wife Kathleen (nee Lubeck); daughter Jennifer (Jason) Glickley; grandchildren, Evan, Clara, Owen, and Colin; Sister Karrie (John) Klement; and nephews Kyle and Jeffrey.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Kent will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Glueckert Funeral Home 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd., from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
