Kim Ivy McDonald, 65, formerly of Arlington Heights, was born May 10, 1958, in Evergreen Park, Illinois to James and Dolores (Walus) McDonald. She died Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Inverness Health & Rehab, in Inverness, Illinois.
Kim dedicated over two decades of her life as a Certified Public Accountant at Motorola, where her meticulous work and expertise left an indelible mark on her colleagues and clients. Outside of her professional life, Kim was a devoted member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church community, where she found solace, camaraderie, and lasting friendships. She served for a number of years as the parish treasurer and then as her health declined, in the card ministry.
Kim's interests were as diverse as they were delightful - she had a penchant for classic Hollywood movies, particularly those from the 1940s, as well as Hallmark films and mystery shows. She was a cat lover. Kim could often be found engrossed in puzzles, whether tackling challenging Sudoku grids or unraveling crossword clues. She found joy in expressing her creativity through painting, bringing life and color to her surroundings. One of Kim's greatest joys was exploring the world through travel with family, building treasured memories from trips to Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Norway, among others.
Kim is survived by her brother Darryl (Marie) McDonald, her niece Jennifer (Shane) Hansen, and great-niece, Sophia Hansen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers David and Brian.
