She died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Northwest Community Hospital - JourneyCare Hospice in Arlington Heights, Illinois.Dr. Chung Awen practiced family medicine in Oconto, Wisconsin since 1972." She graduated from Yonsei University Medical College in Seoul, South Korea." Her post graduate trainings include the following: rotating internship at Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, surgical and pediatric trainings at Regina General Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and pathology training at University Hospital, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.Dr. Chung Awen was certified in pathology by the American Board of Pathology." She was licensed in Canada by the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)." Her general practice was in Turtleford, Saskatchewan, Canada and in Oconto, Wisconsin." She was licensed in Wisconsin by the Wisconsin Medical Board." She was a member and past president of the medical staff of Oconto Memorial Hospital in Oconto, Wisconsin. She was also a member of and past president of the medical executive board of Oconto Memorial Hospital.Dr. Chung Awen was also an active member of a benevolent organization called "Daughter of Niles."Kim is survived by her spouse of 54 years Charles F. Awen, MD; her children Thomas Awen JD (Linda Moy), and Dennis Awen, MA; her grandson, William Awen; her many nieces and nephews, and friends, Randy (Carol) Monette, and William Binder, JD (Jody Wallace Binder).She was preceded in death by her parents.Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N.
