Leonard Daniel BenedettoOf Mount ProspectLeonard Daniel Benedetto was born on August 21, 1928 in Cleveland, OH to Giovanni and Lena (nee Petrocelli) Benedetto. He died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Alden Estates of Barrington Rehab and Health Care Ceter.Leonard served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as an Human Resources for AT&T based in Skokie. He was a member of Orchard Evangelical Free Church in Arlington Heights. Leonard loved the outdoors, and loved to watch the "March Madness" along with "Cheering On" the Syracuse Orangeman Basketball Team.He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was loved by all. Leonard is survived by his daughters, Gayle Benedetto, and Joye (Stephan) Swanson; grandchildren, Leo Swanson, Evangeline Swanson, Annika Swanson, Boden Swanson, Magnus Swanson, Dominic Szymanski, Gabrielle Szymanski,and Max Szymanski; sister-in-law, Geraldine Benedetto; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Benedetto; his parents; brother, Joseph Benedetto; and sister, Arlene (Jack) McAndrew. Visitation Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Funeral Service 11:00 am, Monday, June 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Salute, Inc., P.O.
