Lila V. LaVine

of Arlington Heights, IL

Lila V LaVine, 92, was born on February 8, 1930, in Chicago, IL to Arthur and Viola (King) Zanner. She died peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Symphony Rehabilitation Center in Buffalo Grove.

Lila attended Austin High School in Chicago. She met her beloved Arthur Harry LaVine when she was 16 and they were married on July 17, 1948. Arthur and Lila purchased a two-flat in Chicago, eventually building a house in Arlington Heights where she resided for the next 54 years. She enjoyed cooking and was part of a gourmet group throughout her early life. Their vacation home in Higgins Lake, Michigan was an important place to Arthur and Lila, where many memories were shared with loved ones. Lila was dedicated to her family, making every holiday, birthday, and Sunday dinner special for anyone who came into her home.

Lila is survived by her daughter Lynn (Andrew) Lyons, as well as her grandchildren Justin Wolff, and Andy (Bethany) Lyons

She was preceded in death by her husband, along with her brother and five sisters.

Visitation Friday, September 30, 2022 from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at the Glueckert Funeral Home 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Graveside Service to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
