Linda J. Sowa was born on August 20, 1949, in Chicago to Ernest and Jean (nee Gniot) Meyer. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in Arlington Heights, IL.

Linda devoted her life to her children leaving her position as a hair stylist for Edie Adams Cut and Curl in Des Plaines when her first child was born. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. Linda enjoyed fashion, shopping, decorating her house and cooking. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her granddaughter and great-grandchildren, and was loved by all.

Linda is survived by her spouse of 51 years Carl; children Debra (Brian) Starck and Carlin Sowa; granddaughter Joey (Joe) Matlachowski; great-grandchildren Liam Starck and Hazel Grace Matlachowski; siblings Denise Swenson and Daniel Meyer; brother-in-law Paul (Nanette) Sowa, sister-in-law Kathy Sowa; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, January 24, 2022, at St. James Catholic Church, 831 North Arlington heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment is private.
