Louise M. Lindemann (known to most as Lou) was born on August 3, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois to Angelo and Mary Reda. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was proceeded to heaven by her husband Dave after 55 years of marriage.
Lou received her Teaching Degree at Northern Illinois Teacher’s College (now Northern Illinois University), where she met her husband Dave.
After Lou and Dave were married in 1952, she taught elementary school while Dave was overseas in the Korean War. She continued her teaching career for several years while Dave was finishing his degree and then worked as a substitute teacher while starting her family.
Lou and Dave raised their family in Arlington Heights, where she was deeply involved in St. James church and community theater. Lou was President of the PTA, a Cub Scout Den Leader and involved in many activities devoted to her family. She was always planning summer vacations and took her family to Europe, where she and Dave travelled extensively after they retired.
Lou was also preceded in death by her parents, Angelo and Mary; her brother Donald Reda and his wife Ruth; her brother-in-law George Lindemann and his wife Betty.
Louise is survived by her sons Glen (Sharon) Lindemann and Edward (Lisa) Lindemann; her grandchildren Avonne, Regina and John and her step grandchildren Rick, Becky, Jake (Alexis) and Sydney. Louise recently became a great grandmother to Elijah.
Louise was also survived by her sister Virginia and husband Kenneth Talac; 12 Nieces and Nephews and many great Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, April 4, 2022, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayers will be Tuesday at 9:15 am at the funeral home proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004 for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Des Plaines.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. James Church.
