

Lucille Marie Reindl Formerly of Mt. Prospect Lucille Marie Reindl was born on February 8, 1919 in LaSalle, Illinois to Emil and Frances (nee Grobelny) Kotowski. Her parents moved to Chicago when she was a year old. Her father was a Milk Delivery Driver for Wanzer Milk Company. She spent her childhood and part of her married life until 1950 on the North side of Chicago where she grew up. One of her first jobs was as an elevator operator at the Chicago Marshall Fields store on State Street. She married Roger O. Reindl on Valentine"s Day, February 14, 1941. She and her oldest children, Anita and Dennis lived with her parents while Roger was serving overseas in the Army during World War II. In the early 1950's she and her husband Roger moved to Mount Prospect. They built their ranch style home at 100 S. Albert Street, Mount Prospect, IL. Shortly afterwards they built a commercial building at 930 E. NorthWest Highway, Mt. Prospect, IL where they opened their business, NorthWest Electrical Supply Co.In the beginning, Lucille would travel weekly to Chicago to pick up supplies for the new business in order to service contractors in the area. Later, she worked on newspaper drawings for advertising, as well as some accounting, record keeping and lighting sales for the business. Her artistic abilities were many. Her first project was colorizing the black and white family photos. She liked to knit and crochet, making bedspreads, sofa throws, shawls, afghans, and other clothing items. She made hats, ceramics, and stained glass art work. She was a very good seamstress who made clothing and coats, including Halloween costumes for her children. She made elegant evening gownsand capes for New Years Eve and other special occasions. She had a sense of style, and selected all the interior finishes when NorthWest Electrical Supply relocated to 30 South Main Street in 1969.Lucille was a devoted Catholic and a parishioner at St. Raymond's and St. Emily's Catholic churches in Mt. Prospect. She always attended church on Sunday, and always professed her faith in God. She was a humanitarian, lending a helping hand to her friends, neighbors, employees, relatives, and family members.She was active in the community, joining the Mount Prospect Women's Club. Lucille volunteered at the Lions club carnival events working in the ticket booths selling tickets. She joined both the local women's bowling league and golf league. She played for many years on various teams.She played Canasta and Gin Rummy in area women's card clubs. She enjoyed fashion shows and Marshall Field"s outings. She hosted many family events, dinners, holidays, and employee parties at her home. She enjoyed gardening, and had a yard full of peonies, tulips, evergreens and rhubarb.She believed in physical fitness. She used Weight Watchers to manage her weight. She bought a 3 wheel bicycle to get some exercise. She kept a neat house and was willing to do any of the manual chores.Lucille enjoyed cooking, and carried on family recipes handed down by her mother. She also liked to bake and made pies, cakes, and cookies. She had many favorite foods. Among them are Polish blood sausage, grilled salmon, beet soup, grilled asparagus, mock chicken legs, ground beef with gravy on mashed potatoes, borscht soup, barbeque hamburgers, meat loaf, pancakes, crepes, ravioli alfredo, and chicken egg foo young. Desert favorites include cheesecake, strawberry rhubarb pie, vanilla ice cream, yum yum coffee cake and pistachio cake.She liked to travel. She visited Canada, Wisconsin, Niagara Falls, Florida, California, Mexico and many states in between. In her later years, she took her mother to England and Italy.She was a very active, kind and considerate lady whose enthusiasm and caring compassion was felt by many around her, especially her grandchildren. She didn't want for herself as much as she wanted for others. Some of her frequent phrases were, "Do the Right Thing," "It will be all right," "Don't Worry about it Honey!" "You did the right thing," and "It will be taken care of."Her husband Roger passed away in 1990. Lucille spent her last years at Lake Barrington Woods in Barrington, IL where she developed a deep affection for her long time caregiver of 13 years, Barbara. Lucille died Thursday, June 11, 2015 at JourneyCare in Barrington, Illinois.She is survived by her children, Anita D. (the late Ronald F.) Drake, Dennis R. (Barbara K. Walter-Reindl) Reindl, Donna C. (James R.) Mill, and Thomas A. (Lynn M. Carlson) Reindl; grandchildren, Terrence Drake, Jeffrey (Christine) Drake, Kimberly (James) Splingaire, Garrett Drake, Adam Reindl, Amanda Wolfe, Gregory (Kate) Walter, Kristen Mill, Thomas Reindl, Brian Reindl, Michael Reindl, Sarah Reindl, and David Reindl; great-grandchildren, Austin Drake, Dylan Drake, Bram Drake, Sean Drake, Tanya (Jim) Vogel, Brian Shevchik, Connor Splingaire, Taylor Splingaire, Kaylee Drake, Jack Drake, Erin Walter, Jack Walter; great-great grandchild, Carsyn Vogel. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Roger O. Reindl; her parents; her son-in-law Ronald Drake); her siblings George Kotowski, Robert Kotowski, and Gloria Eggert. Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Prayers 9:00 AM, Monday, June 15, 2015 at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Raymond Catholic Church, 301 S. Ioka, Mount Prospect, Illinois for Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial at All Saints.
