Marc Goldman of Prospect Heights was born on May 15, 1949, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Sidney and Judith Goldman (née Seidner). He passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, Illinois, surrounded by his loving family and the compassionate staff who cared for him.
Marc graduated from Madison West High School and then attended The University of Wisconsin-Madison, experiencing the highs and lows of Badgers fandom while earning a bachelor’s degree in Economics. He remained loyal to Bucky Badger for the next 60 years, although we never saw him "Jump Around" during football games.
On March 23rd, 1968, Marc walked into DJ’s Bar & Dance Club without knowing he was about to meet the love of his life, Karen. They were married on November 28, 1970, and moved to the suburbs of Chicago. The newlyweds pledged their allegiance to the Cubs, Bears and Bulls. Marc often said he thanked his lucky stars every day for Karen until her passing in November 2017.
Marc spent the majority of his professional career with US Tsubaki in Wheeling, Illinois before later joining his son Dan's company, Crowd Control Warehouse.
He is survived by his children, Daniel Goldman (Michelle Torp), Tammy (Kevin) Wynard, and Barry (Tracy) Goldman; and by the grandchildren he adored, Teddy Wynard, Katey Wynard, Nathaniel Goldman, and Parker Goldman. We also recognize his nieces and nephews, dear lifelong friends and thoughtful neighbors.
Marc was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen; his parents, Sidney and Judith Goldman; and sister Arnice.
For almost 50 years, Marc & Karen loved attending their children and grandkids little league baseball and softball games. From Prospect Heights to Aurora and now Mundelein, there were wins, losses, maybe a few injuries along the way-but always plenty of smiles. Marc often brought the team M&Ms or out for ice cream on a hot summer day.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Mundelein Baseball and Softball Association payable to MBSA in memory of Marc Goldman on the memo line (PO Box 606, Mundelein, IL 60060) to support his grandson and future Mustangs travel to Cooperstown, home of the baseball Hall of Fame and annual 12U tournament.
