Margaret Louise Peterson, 92, of Arlington Heights, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024 surrounded by family. She was born September 16, 1931, in Rhea Springs, TN. Her father passed away when she was three. In 1941 she and her mother moved to Lansing, Michigan to be near family. It was there she started dating Keith during her junior year of high school. They married in 1951 in Denver where Keith was stationed. They returned to Lansing, later moved to Battle Creek and in 1965 made the final move to Arlington Heights.
Margaret worked as an administrator assistant at various companies and 21 years as service administrator for Fischer and Porter. She enjoyed traveling to Brown County, the east coast and walking the sunny beaches in Florida and Gulf Shores, collecting antiques along the way. In her retirement she loved working and relaxing in her yard, reading books, completing jigsaw puzzles and walking her numerous dogs. Her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, brought her great joy.
Proceeded in death by her husband of 54 years, Keith, and her parents, Blanche and Jack Brady. Survived by her children Douglas (Ella) Peterson, Terri (Joe) Porto and Jeff (Roxanne) Peterson; “Mama” to Tina Peterson, Traci (Jon) Chapman, Michael (Jenny) Porto and Emily (Ivan) Rojas; “Big Mama” to Natalie, Olivia, Max, Josie, Nora and Lia.
Private services were held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
